The associations involved in the promotion of regional languages at school were invited by Euro MP François Alfonsi and French MP Paul Molac, chair of the Study Group for Regional Languages and Cultures at the National Assembly, to take part in a meeting about the official schooling of regional langages in France.

They aimed to make an assessment of the situation of our regional languages after the latest reforms in French education had been carried out.

All associations (including the ANVT) and elected officials at the meeting were up in arms against Minister Jean-Michel Blanquer as they ascertained the difficulties which the teachers of regional langages and their students are currently facing.

They decided to set up a joint group tasked with the circulation of information on the effects of the reforms and the suggestions for action.
