During the 4th West Flemish Week, we organised a memory workshop in the Résidence Les Hauts de Flandre, a retirement home in Cassel.

The residents jogged their memory with the songs « Reuzelied » (The Song of the Giant) and the « Ooven » (The oven of wonders). They spoke in West Flemish about week days, months and seasons. Some even knew unrecorded West Flemish songs. They were glad to while away a whole afternoon with people keen on their mother language in a typically friendly atmosphere. A West Flemish conversation group will now take place every month in Cassel.
